[Project#3] PUBG Global Championship


Overview

To build a strong fan base and increase live attendance for the PUBG Global Championship (PGC) 2022, the world’s largest battle royale esports tournament, KONEXA led a regional offline marketing campaign targeting audiences across the UAE. From concept development and booth design to on-site execution and event operations, KONEXA provided end-to-end support to help PUBG deepen its brand presence in the MENA market.


Project Scope

  • Region: UAE (Dubai)

  • Period: October – November 2022

  • Key Locations:

    • Mall of the Emirates

    • JBR (The Beach)

    • La Mer

    • Burj Khalifah

    • Dubai Expo City

  • Main Deliverables:

    • Custom-designed PUBG event booths

    • Offline fan festival operations

    • Projection mapping at Burj Khalifah

    • Cosplay, gameplay experiences, ticket promotions, and hashtag campaigns


Objectives

  • Drive live audience attendance and engagement for PGC

  • Strengthen PUBG’s brand experience in the MENA region

  • Deliver an immersive esports festival across multiple physical locations

  • Amplify social buzz through content-driven online campaigns


Role

  • Location negotiation & venue contracting (Malls / Outdoors)

  • Booth structure & event space interior design

  • Visitor flow planning & operational manuals

  • Development of branded engagement content (e.g. PUBG Passport, Dance Battle)

  • Video production, livestream coordination, promoter training & staffing

  • Full turnkey operations including logistics, maintenance & customer service


Results

  • Millions of impressions via JBR and Ain Dubai ad placements

  • Over 150,000+ physical visitors

  • 10,000+ social media shares (hashtags, photos, reels, etc.)

  • Significant growth in brand awareness and fan base across MENA
